Michael Jackson Memorial Service Thoughts and Report

I wasn't sure if I wanted to post a blog about the Michael Jackson memorial service, but I felt compelled to do so. First of all, I don't know Terri McFaddin Solomon, but I heard that she is a woman of God. And I decided to pass the information along about the report of Michael receiving Christ. I don't have first hand knowledge of this, but I thought I would pass it on. I don't have any reason to disbelieve it and it's the best news I've heard out of everything that has been talked about since his passing.

Today, I was in Indianapolis with my IT crew sorting through some computer issues at Summit Indy. While in Best Buy to get a cable, I noticed the service on one of the TV's. When I got back to the office, I decided to watch. I didn't see all of it, but his daughter's comment at the end was very moving. The songs at the end (We are the World and Heal the World) touched me. Was it just me or did the world seem a little kinder today? Seeing people in London holding hands half way around the world was amazing.
What is the Christian take away from this? If you saw this, what do you think?
"There are people dying, if you care enough for the living, make it a better place...."
Let's take Jesus to the nations and make this world brighter and better for the glory of God.
Here's a link to an interesting report about Michael reaching out to Andre' Crouch and his twin sister Sandra a few weeks before his passing. article

What to do while you wait - the seed and preparation

This past Sunday in the Indianapolis campus I taught on the subject, "what to do while you're waiting on your breakthrough." Afterwards a woman came up to me excited about the message and how God was helping her by bringing the same message to her twice in the same day! There are some things that she has been dealing with for several years, and now she is getting very close to her manifestation, praise God! I love it when God does stuff like that. And it helped me by providing confirmation on my message and on our Indianapolis launch.

She told me that she heard a television minister (that morning) teach much of the same things that I had taught that morning, using some of the exact same scriptures like, Galatians 6:7 and Genesis 8:22.

In his message, the minister spoke of a man who gave him a Chinese bamboo tree. And after caring for and nurturing it for a few years, there was nothing outward to show for all the labor he put in. So he decided to give it away. Then something amazing happened. A few weeks after he gave it away to someone else, this same tree grew several feet tall! It started growing like crazy, seemingly instantly and rapidly.

Even though it seemed like that this tree started growing almost instantly, it really was growing the whole time. By caring for the tree in the early years, it allowed the root system to develop and grow strong underneath the ground. And even though you couldn't see it, the root system provided the strength and support for the massive growth that would happen later.

So don't give up on your dreams. Even when it looks like nothing's happening, something is happening. When you study, pray, meditate, speak the word of God, praise God, develop your character (including your love walk, integrity, and patience; when you burn the midnight oil to develop your strengths and skills; when you obey God in what he tells you to do; when you work on your dreams and the steps that will get you there -- you are developing a strong root system that will provide a strong foundation for massive growth. So don't get discouraged or frustrated when people laugh at you, criticize you or talk about you. Don't allow people to discourage you and try to talk you into giving up on your vision and dreams. Because at the end of the day, you are going to sprout up, grow, and fulfill the divine purpose that God planned for you before the foundation of the world.

Summit Indianapolis Launch Report

Well we did it! We launched our 1st multi-site campus yesterday and it was awesome. Here are some highlights:
1. Two first time guests received salvation. Praise God!
2. The posse rocked and set the atmosphere.
3. Had an overwealming amount of connection cards filled out (I'm told 50)!
4. I'm grateful to the FW members came down to show their support.
5. I was told the FW campus was awesome. They didn't miss a beat.

Thanks to all who made yesterday possible. The teamwork between the two campuses was something to behold. There was a synergy that only could be the hand of God. I love you'all so much!
This is only the beginning!
BTW, as a footnote to all of this, the night before I spoke at a banquet for Pastor Skip Powell in MD for their 25th anniversary and the transitioning of the Pastorship from Father to son. Guess what the name of their Church is? Word Alive!! How's that for confirmation. God is in this thing, big time! The best is yet to come!

Summit Indy Update

The Summit-Indy team are really stepping up to the plate to make this transition from Word Alive to Summit as smooth as possible. And of course, we should never take the Holy Spirit for granted. He is the great Helper and He's helped us and is helping us greatly. Thank you Holy Spirit.

We're getting down to crunch time. Pastor Tracey, Floyd, and a portion of our music team from Summit-FW are coming down to Indy tonight to rehearse with the Summit-Indy singers and the newly formed band. Indy will have a sax player and a 19 year old bass player (both of whom are off the chain); both of whom are coming because of Floyd's influence. God had Indy in mind when he brought us Floyd. The Indy multi-site was a surprise to us, but not to the Father. I'm seeing more and more that this was a divine set-up.

I can't say enough about how cooperative everyone has been from the Indy family. Norma (receptionist) has been a blessing in this transition working with Mary (my office mgr). Mary,  MeLena, Pastor Tracey, and Floyd have been working very diligently in our transition. Personally, I've been working with Byron and Sheronda and I can't tell you how excited I am to work along side them. They are leaders with a spirit of excellence. Gary skipped out on vacation just in time to miss the transition stuff, but I'm gonna lean big time on him when he returns. We've talked a few times over the phone and he's excited; I'm excited! We've known each other since the early days of my salvation in the early 80's and I'm thrilled about re-connecting with him.

God is moving in this thing, and we are glad!

Summit Indy Update

Today is my last day in Indianapolis before our first Encounter on June 28th and I'm so excited. I've been here all week working with our new team members and also attending Al's State High School golf tournament. His team (Homestead) didn't make the cut after the first day, but Al advanced as an individual to the 2nd round and he finished 9th. Way to go Al. I'm so proud of him.

On Wednesday night I greeted the Word Alive congregation and shared my vision with them. Before I shared, a guest missionary from the Philippines ministered an on time Word about the plan of God. The Lord gave him this message before he learned about the transition and it helped to set the stage for it. God is so awesome. After the service, I met with the leaders. They are an amazing group and I couldn't ask for any better people to work with. The congregation and leaders received me well and I look forward to serving them.
Last night, Pastor Tracey and Floyd came to sit in on their Thursday night rehearsal. Floyd found us an amazing bass player out of Indy who came. We are adding a sax player and also found out that Floyd's sister just moved to Indy and she's an amazing singer. That's right, WoW!!!!!!!!
SummitIndy1
The facility. Wow! It was like it was made for Summit. Al helped get the moving lights going with cooperation from Byron (Head Usher). He stayed and worked with us last night 'till 10:50pm and we couldn't have done it without his help. Like I said. God is so, so, so, awesome. Our expansion to Indy was a "suddenly" to us, but it was something that the Lord was "cooking up" for some time. Can you feel it!?! There is no God like our God!
