Psa. 31:19 How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world. 20 You hide them in the shelter of your presence, safe from those who conspire against them. You shelter them in your presence, far from accusing tongues.
23 Love the LORD, all you godly ones! For the LORD protects those who are loyal to him, but he harshly punishes the arrogant.
Do you fear the Lord? Godly fear doesn't have anything to do with being scared of God. God doesn't want you to be afraid of Him in that sense. It means having a wholesome dread of displeasing Him. Do you have that? Ok, great! If you do, then get ready for His goodness that He's ready to pour out on you. And He's not going to do it just a little, but He's going to lavish it on you in abundance. Lavish means to bestow something in generous or extravagant quantities upon. It also means to cover something thickly. That's what God wants to do for you. And He's going to do it in front of the world's watching eye, including your critics and enemies. He goes on to say that He will hide you in the treasure of His presence.
Love God and be loyal to Him, and He will protect you and return His favor to you in a big way.
